Warby Parker: Improving the World's Sight

Warby Parker Improving the World's Sight
What can you do with a degree in bioengineering and being bit by the entrepreneurial bug? David Gilboa, co-founded Warby Parker, an innovative  eyeglass company that is disrupting the industry.

"A huge driving force for our entire founding team has been this concept of really being a force for good in the world." Warby Parker sells great-looking glasses at a fraction of the price found at the mall with a spice of innovation. It has disrupted an entire industry controlled by a handful of companies who were keeping prices artificially high. Then the founders thought of doing good: give a pair of glasses to someone in need for every pair they sell. The result? They hit first-year sales targets within three weeks.

In the first year the company already sent 85,000 pairs of glasses to people around the world who needed them but couldn't afford them. Warby Parker has been granted B Corp status, new designation awarded to for-profit enterprises that have a positive impact on the world. This might be why Google Glass is looking to partner with themCheck out their inspiring story.
