ViHart: The Incredible Magic Behind Spirals, Fibonacci, and Plants

ViHart The Incredible Magic Behind Spirals, Fibonacci, and Plants
What do spirals, fibonacci and plants have in common? Discover the magnificence behind them using high-school classroom math.

After you watch the video, you will be amazed by how much simple math appears in so many things in nature. You might be left wondering, how can there be all these coincidences? There is a possible explanation. Among all the debate of whether God exists or not, there is a concept that is often overlooked in science which is contradictory to the theory of natural selection. Intelligent design (ID) is the proposition that "certain features of the universe and of living things are best explained by an intelligent cause, not an undirected process such as natural selection."

It is a form of creationism and a contemporary adaptation of the traditional teleological argument for the existence of God, presented by its advocates as "an evidence-based scientific theory about life's origins" rather than "a religious-based idea". Is there an intelligent designer that created everything in this world? If there is, God is our greatest entrepreneur and this is why we dedicated this post to him. Anyways, we are all eager to see what the next video is all about!

ViHart, aka Victoria Hart, is a “recreational mathemusician” with a degree in Music from Stony Brook University. She blogs from Long Island, NY about all things mathematical, especially fun games and proofs that can be done through doodling. She’s especially interested in symmetry, polyhedra, and surreal complexity, and uses her knowledge in these areas for collaborative research projects into computational geometry and other areas in computer sciences and geometry.
