Nao Next Gen: The New Generation of RoboToys

Remember the robotoy that was one of the most famous humanoid education and research robots? It is about to be replaced. Nao Next Gen is the next generation robot designed by the French Aldebaran Robotics firm. 

It is an evolution of the existing design, boosting the in-robot cameras to a twin HD-video solution, an upgraded Atom 1.6GHz CPU, a better walking algorithm to provide better control of its servo's torque so the robots movements are more fluid and powerful, and a few other improvements. Most importantly, they have added in voice recognition from Nuance--from the same technology behind Apple's Siri. This will add a whole new dimension into the future of household robots, in which you will be able to give him commands such as: "Robot, answer the doorbell please". It is an exiting piece of technology.
